Slavery

In America, slaves are either being bought or tricked into being a slave. They are illegally being sold in the United States for a minimum of $3. They pose as housemaids, or paid workers, but they are usually beaten. If they were tricked, its even harder for them, as they are usually not allowed to send letters, telling of their hardships. They are forced to write about how happy they are, when they are most likely not doing their studies each day, but are forced to do things that they aren't ready for. Most imports of slaves come in from Mexico and Africa, and are illegally shuttled into the United States. Most of you are probably saying, " How did I not know this?" That's the question. The people who trade slaves try to keep it a secret, when there are more than 2.7 million (taken from 2005) in the world. They don't want people to know that they are illegally trading people that are supposed to live a happy life.
Help make this happen, and take a stand. Tell others about slavery in the world, and what we can do to stop it. Try reading "Not For Sale" by David Batstone.
I'm 11, and I know about this.
